Matthew William Osmun

Matthew “Matt” William Osmun, 46, of Mayview, Missouri passed away October 29, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri.

A visitation will be held at 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home 306 South 2^nd Street Odessa, Missouri 64076, 816-633-5524. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at St. George Catholic Church 716 South 3^rd Street, Odessa, Missouri 64076. Matt was born April 17, 1976, in Wichita, Kansas to Cynthia Corinne (Cook) and Robert Michael Osmun. He graduated from Estes Park High School in Estes Park, Colorado. Matt worked at Sunrise Market as a butcher since 2013 until the market closed. Matt attended St. George Catholic Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Matt enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, and was an avid Broncos Fan.  

Matt is survived by his mother, Cynthia Corinne (Cook) Payton of Mayview, Missouri; his father, Robert Michael Osmun of Tennessee; sister, Sammi Taggart (Caleb) of Mayview, Missouri; two brothers Christopher Osmun (Adrieke) of Crossville, Tennessee, and Andrew Osmun of Riverton, Utah and many nieces and nephews. 

Matt was preceded in death by his daughter, Emrie Rose Osmun, and his stepfather, Steven Ray Payton, his fishing buddy.
