Mary Emma (Jones) Ring, 98, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the Holden Manor Care Center in Holden, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday September, 22, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Woods Chapel Cemetery. Mary was born on June 14, 1918 in Peru, Kansas to Dean Harvie and Elsie May (Chance) Jones. She graduated from Peru High School in 1937. On February 7, 1949 she married Lawrence Valentine Ring in Wellington, MO. In 1984 he preceded her in death. Mary was a School Teacher and then went to work for the University of Missouri Extension Office from 1978 to 1986. She would travel around and demonstrate to people how to use the products given by the extension office. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. She was a past member of the Odessa Senior Center Board of Directors. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Mary enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Survivors include a son Lawrence “Dean” Ring and wife Pat of Holden, MO; two grandsons, Jed Daniel Ring of Omaha, Nebraska and Adam Charles Ring and wife Randi of Katy, Texas; a great grandson, Harrison Charles Ring; a niece Carla Carneal and husband Ron of Blairstown, MO; and other nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Dennis Earl Ring, and two brothers, Harvie Eugene Jones and Leo Ray Jones.
