Mary Kathryn (Whitsitt) McCoy, 83, of Centerview, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at the Country Club Care Center in Warrensburg, MO.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 12507 Mt. Tabor Rd., Odessa, MO, 64076. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Inurnment will be in the Mt. Mary was born on November 6, 1932 in Mayview, MO to George Preston and Iola Mae (Davidson) Whitsitt. She graduated from Higginsville High School in Higginsville, MO. After high school she attended University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. On August 26, 1951 she married William "Bill" McCoy in Odessa, MO, who survives of the home. Mary retired from the Johnson County Road District as an Administrative Assistant after ten plus years. She was an active member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church. Mary was a member of the United Methodist Women, a Sunday School Teacher, and Janitor for the church and Chairman of the Board. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Mary enjoyed sewing and reading.

In addition to her husband Bill, Mary is survived by four children, Nancy Ring and husband Stephen of Centerview, MO, Kathy Gay and husband Randy of Columbia, MO, Bill McCoy and wife Marilyn of Clinton, MO and Roger McCoy and wife Jill of Centralia, MO; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; two brothers, J. Eldon Whitsitt and wife Doris of Higginsville, MO and Marvin Whitsitt and wife Dorothy of Mayview, MO; an sister-in-law, Carolyn Whitsitt of Grain Valley, MO and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, David Whitsitt.
