Mary Martha Cox, 94, of Lexington, MO died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Benchmark Care Center in Lexington. She was born November 27, 1917, in the home, outside Warrensburg, MO, the daughter of Waldo P. and Hattie E. Bratten. She married Roy M. Cox on April 19, 1938, and spent her life as a farmers wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader, quilter, and did crochet. She loved membership in the Slusher Homemakers Club and the Ladies Aid, as well as being a life-long member of the Baptist faith. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 68 years, one daughter, Linda, and one granddaughter, Kelly Cox Weldy. She was also preceded by all five of her siblings: Linn, Paul, Homer, and John Bratten, Oma Lee Bratten Schmuck, and a daughter-in-law, Virginia Cox. Mary is survived by four children: Steve and JoAnn Cox of Wellington, MO, Ken Cox of Dover, MO, Tony and Jeanette Cox of Montgomery City, MO, and Sue and Bill Cretzmeyer of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2012 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington, MO. (660)259-2245. Interment in Liberty Cemetery, near Warrensburg, MO.
