Mary Margaret (Emanuel) Early Haggard, 93 of Lee’s Summit, Missouri formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524, with Reverend Terry Hodges officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior at 1 p.m. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Odessa Building Fund or Grace Hospice. Mary was born on February 1, 1921 in Odessa, MO to Willis Robinson and Maude Blanche (Wagoner) Emanuel. She graduated from Bates City High School. On May 13, 1939 she married Richard Lee Early. Richard preceded her in death on May 4, 1960. On August 4, 1968 Mary was united in marriage to Willie “Bill†Haggard in Odessa, MO. Bill preceded her in death on January 7, 1997. Mary was a homemaker, taking care of her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa, MO. When Mary was able she enjoyed spending any free time she had with her family. In her most recent years, she enjoyed listening the music at the Wilshire care center, reading and her beloved Cardinal Bird collection.
Survivors include two children, Brenda Lou (Early) McBride and husband Keith of Raytown, MO and Thomas Lee Early and wife Carrie Ann of Odessa, MO; three grandchildren, Lynn Ray Murry, Sr. of Higginsville, MO, Suzanne Renee Murry, of Independence, MO and Gene Lee Early of Odessa, MO; three great grandchildren, Lynn Ray Murry, Jr., Dawn Lynn Murry, both of Higginsville, MO and Jessica Nicole Thomeczek of Pleasant Hill, MO; two brothers, Arthur Emanuel of St. Louis, MO and Jackie Emanuel of Odessa, MO; and a sister in law, Shirley Emanuel of Fulton, MO and five nephews and two nieces.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Richard Early and Bill Haggard, Mary was preceded in death by a brother, Robert (Bob) Emanuel and a nephew William (Will) Emanuel.
