Mary Margaret Guerri, 88, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Odessa.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to AseraCare Hospice. Mary was born on October 11, 1925 in Chapel Hill, MO to George W. and Polly (Violett) Barnett. She graduated from Bates City High School in 1943. After high school she attended business school. She worked for Trailways bus line in Kansas City, she owned and operated Mary’s Café in Odessa from 1949-1952. After closing the restaurant she went to work for Greyhound bus lines as an agent, she retired after 40 years. On November 8, 1944 she was united in marriage to Victor L. Guerri in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 16, 1991. Mary was the first president and charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Odessa. Her hobbies include gardening, scrapbooking, canning, cooking, genealogy and sewing. Mary did not drive but was an excellent navigator. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include four children, Lynn Guerri and wife Rose of Odessa, MO, Denise Parker and husband Mike of Blue Springs, MO, Pat Guerri of Odessa, MO and Renee Priemer and husband David of Parkville, MO; six grandchildren, Lucas Guerri, Lindsey Parker Banks, Nick Parker, Matt Guerri, Casey Parker Turney and Josh Priemer; and six great grandchildren, Allyson Guerri, Mackenzie Turney, Mia Banks, Evan Guerri, Chase Turney and Aiden Guerri.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, Linda Sue Guerri, a brother, Willis (Corky) Cobb Barnett and a great grandchild Max Banks.
