Charleen "Shorty" McNatt

Funeral Services for Charleen "Shorty" McNatt will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the First Christian Church, Odessa at 10:00 am and the visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6 to 8 pm at the church. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Foundation for research. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, Mo. Charleen "Shorty" Lange McNatt was born on June 11, 1932 in Sweet Springs, MO. to August Henry and Stella Hemme Lange. She married Jerome C. McNatt on April 20, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran church at Sweet Springs, the same church she was christened and raised. Shorty graduated from Sweet Springs High School and worked in her father in laws insurance office. She had also worked in the School Cafeteria while her children were in school. After that Shorty worked for Herefords and also for Mattinglys as a retail clerk. Shorty owned and operated a quilt and knit shop in Odessa that was called Shortys Craft Corner. Shorty was a member of the First Christian Church, Odessa and had been a member of the Womens Fellowship. She was a past Girl Scout Leader and a member of Beta Sigma Phi. Survivors include her husband, Jerry McNatt, Odessa, daughters, Beth Walker and husband, Jim, Lipan, Texas, Minda Walters, and husband, Ray, Highland Ranch, Colorado, and her Son in law, Jerry Baker, Jefferson City, MO. There are 3 grandchildren, Brandon Walters, Tannille Campbell, and Stasha Coker. There are 5 great grandchildren, Ryan Campbell, Raygan Campbell, Reese Campbell, Madison Walters and MaKenzie Walters. Shorty was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Cynthia Baker, 2 brothers, Eldred and Lester Lange and a sister Luella Donnell .
