Funeral services for Martha Jane Viebrock, 76 of Lexington, will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 At 10:00 am at the Grace Lutheran Church, Lexington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, from 6 to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church or the Lexington high school Girls Athletic Program. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lexington. Mrs. Viebrock died on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Lafayette Regional Health Center. Martha Jane Turner was born on December 15, 1934 to L. Lyle and Mildred Jane Freeman Turner in Kansas City, MO. Mrs. Viebrock graduated from Wm. Chrisman high school in 1952, she then attended Graceland College where she received her Associate Degree. Mrs. Viebrock earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from C.M.S.U in 1956. Martha Jane Turner married Arnold Viebrock on June 7, 1959 in Independence, MO. She was baptized into Christ in January of 1960. Mrs. Viebrock taught for 22 years in the Lexington School System as the Girls Physical Education instructor. She was instrumental in Starting the Girls Athletic Association (GAA); pep club and the Lexington Girls Softball League. Mrs. Viebrock was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sunday School Teacher , helped with the Braille Ministry and was a member of the Ladies Circle, and Altar Guild. Martha Viebrock and her husband Arnold helped with the Meals on Wheels programs in Lexington and helped deliver clothes to the Good Shepard Care Center. Through their 51 years of marriage Martha & Arnold traveled 49 of the 50 States. Martha enjoyed attending her grandkids activities. Survivors include her husband, Arnold of the home. Three daughters, Susan Mulcahy and husband, Tim, Olathe, KS; Kathy Swafford and husband Mark, Lexington and Mary Lee Hair and husband, Terry, Olathe, KS. There are 6 grandchildren, Erin Rosenthal and husband, Matt, Brian Mulcahy, Lyndsay Swafford, Ashley Swafford, Will Collins, , and Leah Collins. Also surviving is a Sister Virginia West and husband, Jack of Lake Isabella, MI. as well as many nieces and nephews.
