Betty Jean Wood, 82, of Buckner, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August, 22, 2012 at the New Haven Golden Living Center in Odessa, MO A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Inurnment will be at the Buckner Hill Cemetery in Buckner, MO. Betty was born on December, 11 1929 in Kansas City, MO to Chester Arthur and Daisy Dean (Davis) Wise. In 1948 she married Harold L Wood, Sr. in Kansas City, MO and in 1960 they moved to Buckner, MO. She was a Methodist by faith. She liked gardening, cooking, quilting and when she was able to go, boating, waterskiing and fishing. She loved spending time with her family and she will be greatly missed. Survivors include two children, a son, Harold (Sonny) L. Wood, Jr. and wife Donna of Buckner, MO, a daughter, Linda Brown of Lubbock, Texas; eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a brother Robert Lee Wise of Huntsville, Arkansas; three sisters, Joan I. Galate of Grain Valley, MO, Shirley Mae Dutton of Excelsior Springs, MO and Colleen Wells of Odessa, MO; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Jack Wise, Harold L. Wise, Donald E. Wise and Chester Wise; a sister, Helen Bernice Wilson.
