Marilyn Christian Small, 82, of Lexington passed away June 14, 2021. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A funeral service will also be on Tuesday at the funeral home at 12:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or the Children's Miracle Network. Marilyn was born February 1, 1939 in Lexington to Leonard and Bessie (Chandler) Christian. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1957. Marilyn worked at the Lexington Bank and Trust, meeting and later marrying Forrest Small on April 19, 1963. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2010. Marilyn was a homemaker after her children were born. She returned to the workforce in the early 1980's in banking, retail and eventually retiring from Lafayette County Land Title.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, gardening, talking with her friends and just living in the country and enjoying wildlife. She was always ready for the Chiefs to play. Her biggest fear on game day was Mahomes getting hurt.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Small and Chris Small and wife Kim of Lexington; granddaughter, Kortney Alumbaugh and husband Charles of Lexington; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Oleta Venable, Lila Christian, Margie Christian, Daina Hollon and Lillian Smidt; and brother, Doyle Christian.
