MARILYN JOYCE HOFSTETTER Marilyn J. Hofstetter, 84, of Lexington, MO passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Rehabilitation Center of Independence. Marilyn Rogers was born April 7, 1930 in Ottumwa, IA, to Frank and Ruth Johnson Rogers. She married Leonard H. Hofstetter on October 13, 1949 in Ottumwa, IA. Marilyn was and K-8 Elementary Teacher from 1949 through 1972 in the Bloomfield & Cardinal School District in Bloomfield, IA. She was a member of the Lexington First Baptist Church. Marilyn is survived by sons: James Hofstetter and wife, Juliann, Grain Valley, MO, Joseph Hofstetter and wife, LeeAnn, Prescott, AZ and Henry Paul Hofstetter, Ottumwa, IA. A brother, Gary Rogers, Napa, CA. Sisters: Willadean Roberts, Burlington, IA and Patricia Thomas, Eldon, IA. There are 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Frank and William, parents, and brother, Allen. Memorial services will be 3 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington, MO (660) 259-2245. Visitation from 2 to 3 Monday, prior to the service. Her cremains will be taken to Eldon, IA for inurnment at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Fibromyalgia Network or the Lexington First Baptist Church.
