Marcella McGinnis

Marcella Esther (Mason) McGinnis, 92, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at home surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m., to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the South Point Cemetery in Orrick, MO. Memorials are suggested to Phoenix Hospice. Marcella was born on August 24, 1930, in DeKalb, MO to Claude and Agnes (Gardner) Mason. In March of 1949 Marcella married Floyd Ray Wilson, and they later divorced. In October of 1960 she was united in marriage to Chester Woodrow McGinnis in Independence, MO. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1977. Marcella retired from St. Mary's Manor in 1997 as a Certified Nurses Aid. She attended Church of Hope in Centerview, MO. In addition to spending time with her family and friends, Marcella enjoyed embroidering, dancing, playing cards and bird watching.

Marcella is survived by five children, Teresa Turner and husband Derek of Ponder, TX, Sarah Willard and husband Paul of Warrensburg, MO, Donna Walker and husband David of North Ogden, UT, Debra Morton of Odessa, MO, and Randy McGinnis and wife Belinda of Odessa, MO; two step children, Connie Henley and husband Ronnie of Sweet Springs, MO and Rick McGinnis and wife Melva of Warrensburg, MO; five grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and numerous step great grandchildren; one brother, Marion Mason and wife Shirley of Gladstone, MO; one sister, Patty Hon of Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Mary Mason of Deerborn, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marcella was preceded in death by, six brothers, John Paul Mason, Billy Mason, Bobby Mason, June Mason, Jackie Mason, Sonny Mason, and one stepson, Farrell McGinnis.
