Lori Jean (Winningham) Archer, 41 of Buckner, Missouri formerly of Lexington, MO passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at home after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the East Side Baptist Church, 19901 East MO-78, Independence, MO, 64057. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Church. Burial will be in the Lexington Memory Gardens in Lexington, MO. Lori was born on February 22, 1975 in Lexington, MO to Jim and Virginia (Smith) Winningham. She graduated from Lexington High School. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and her Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, MO. On July 2, 1994 she married Scott Archer in Wellington, MO. Lori was currently working as the Librarian at Blue Hill Elementary for the Ft. Osage School District and previous to that she was an Elementary School Teacher for the Oak Grove School District. She was currently serving as the President of the Chapter of the Missouri State Teachers Association. Lori was also a member of the Athletic and Band Booster Club, and assisted with numerous other clubs and activities for the Ft. Osage School District. She was instrumental in organizing the Story Tellers program, the Young Writers program and Book Fairs in the Ft. Osage School District. In addition to being a loving daughter, wife and mother, Lori enjoyed spending time with her friends, reading, making crafts, scrapbooking, and decorating cakes.
Lori is survived by her husband Scott Archer of Buckner, MO; two children, Dalton Archer and Lauren Archer of Buckner, MO; parents, Jim and Virginia Winningham of Lexington, MO; a brother, Allen Winningham of Blue Springs, MO; father-in-law, Ted Archer, Sr. and wife Connie of Lexington, MO, and mother-in-law, Debra Myer of Lawson, MO; sister-in-law, Amy Reeves and husband Ben of Junction City, KS and brother-in-law Ted Archer, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.
