Lorena June White, 87, of Lexington, MO died Friday, December 17, 2021, at North Care Hospice House, Kansas City, MO.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at First Baptist Church, 525 S. Business Highway 13, Lexington, MO. In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Julie Mazick. A private family inurnment will follow in Wellington, MO. Lorena was born on March 25, 1934, in Plad, MO to Leroy and Violet (English) Harrell. Following her high school education Lorena married John Yakley on May 14, 1954. She owned many restaurants in the Wellington, MO and Lexington, MO, most recently Johnny’s Catfish in Lexington. Lorena enjoyed cooking, but she lived for her grandchildren and family more than anything.
Lorena is survived by her daughter, Julie (Jim) Mazick of Lexington; three grandchildren, Matthew (Tommy) Mazick, Regan (Thomas) Garner, McKinley Mazick (fiancée, Zach Jenkins); two great-grandchildren, Blakely and Cam; five sisters, Kathy (Colbert) Turney of Richmond, MO, Brenda (Sid) Edson of Blue Springs, MO, Patricia (Bob) Hough of Lebanon, MO, Marilyn Moore of Lebanon, MO, Wanda Sherrer of Lebanon, MO; one brother, Bobby Dale (Beverly) Harrell of Lebanon, MO and many nieces, nephews and family. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Yakley; parents; ex-husband; four sisters, Thelma Hayes, Drucilla Cones, Ruby Finnegan and Daisy Baker; and 5 brothers including her twin brother, Loren Harrell, Kenneth Harrell, Herbert Harrell, Devon Harrell and Billy Harrell.
