Lonzo "Lonnie" Duane Martin

Lonzo “Lonnie” Duane Martin, 78, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Rolling Meadows Christian Church, 10406 Odessa Cemetery Rd., Odessa, MO, 64076 with Pastor Daniel Goehringer officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the church. Burial with military rites will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Lafayette County Cancer Coalition. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.ralphojones.com. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ralph O. Lonnie was born on December 30, 1937 in Kingwood, West Virginia to Theodore and Vonda (Martin) Black. Lonnie was also raised by his maternal grandparents, Oscar and Daisy Martin. He graduated from Preston High School in Kingwood, West Virginia. On October 1, 1963 he married Nancy Sue (Lusher) Martin in Miami, Oklahoma who survives of the home. Lonnie served in the United States Airforce from March 19, 1959 until his retirement in 1980. While serving in the Airforce he received numerous Commendations. After retirement he went to work for Brogdon Tool & Die in Blue Springs, MO for many years and then for Haldex Corporation in Grain Valley, MO. He was a member of the Rolling Meadows Christian Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Lonnie enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Lonnie is survived by two sons, Kenneth Dale Martin and Lonnie David Martin and wife Mary Kate, all of Odessa, MO; five granddaughters, one great grandson; three sisters, Linda Cooper of Parkersburg, West Virginia, Barbara Pierce of Indiana and Carolyn Brummett of Newton, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a son, Paul Duane Martin.
