LOIS ARLENE WOOD
Lois A Wood, 83, died on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at her home in Lexington. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Presbyterian Disciples Church, Lexington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at the Walker Nadler Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington from 6 to 8 pm. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Lexington. Memorials may be made to Preferred Hospice.
Lois Abbott was born on December 26, 1931 in Lexington to Albert and Lela McCorkindale Abbott. She married Ralph Marvin Wood on May 12, 1951 in Lexington. Ralph preceded Lois in death on March 11, 2010. Lois had worked at Dunbrook shirt factory and then did childcare in her home for many, many years. She was a member of the Presbyterian Disciples Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
Survivors include her children: Valerie Wood-Hellyer and husband, Rich, East Dundee, Il. and Michael Wood, Lexington. There is a granddaughter, Kelsi Wood, Hustonia, MO and a great granddaughter, Ava. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Jerry and Irvin Abbott and three sisters, Kay Lorantos, Vi Frizzell and Shirley Davis.
