Lloyd Brent Pate, 61, of Grain Valley, Missouri formerly of Odessa, MO passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by family.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home. After the funeral we will process around the Dyer Park softball fields to honor Brent as his wife Christina lays a single rose on the pitching mound. Brent was born on July 13, 1960, in Independence, MO to Lloyd Dan and Virginia B. (Grayer) Pate. He graduated in 1978 from Odessa High School in Odessa, MO. Brent started working for Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in 1982 and was employed for 40 years. On September 18, 2010, Brent married Christina Marie in Lee’s Summit, MO. Brent was an avid softball player and was a member of the Kansas City Metro Senior Softball League. He loved spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed going out on his boat, fishing, collecting football and baseball cards, watching the Chiefs, and driving his new Ford F-150. Most of all he loved spending time with his granddaughters and watching them dance and grow. Brent loved his life and everyone in it. He was a generous and kind soul with a smile that could light up a room.
Brent is survived by his wife, Christina Pate of Grain Valley, MO; a daughter, Dina Cowan (Ariel) of Lee’s Summit, MO, two step-sons, Nicholas Niemann (Niki) of Blue Springs, MO and Ryan Niemann (Kenzi) of Odessa, MO; two grandchildren, Aliana Cowan and Briella Cowan; one sister, Shawna Pate of Independence, MO and one brother, Burl Pate (Minda) of Blue Springs, MO; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Kathy Stufflebean of Blue Springs, MO; a nephew, Kyle Pate (Emily) of Blue Springs, MO; a niece, Ashlynn Pate of Oak Grove, MO; and many extended family and friends.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents; his son Ryan Brent Pate; and sister, Sheila Ann Pate.
