Lillie Marie Lynn

Lillie Marie Grindstaff Lynn, 93, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024. Born in Lexington, Missouri, on October 26, 1931, Lillie was the ninth of twelve children born to Jesse and Leona Gamble Grindstaff. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1950 and married the love of her life, Wilfred O. “Buck” Lynn, on May 10, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas.

Lillie was a woman of resilience, kindness, and creativity. A talented seamstress and avid reader, she could craft anything with a needle and thread and was never far from a good book. Known for her quick wit and fondness for sweets, she lived proof of her philosophy that “a peanut butter cup a day keeps the doctor away.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck; her parents; all eleven of her siblings; her eldest son, Duane; and her only daughter, Teresa. She is survived by her son Darryl; twelve grandchildren—Dawn, Justin, Jason, Angie, Seth, Jennifer, Pamela, Love, Faith, Hope, Bobby, and Daniel—countless great-grandchildren and even great-great grandchildren, whose laughter brought her endless joy.

Lillie leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and sweet memories. While her absence will be deeply felt, those who knew her take comfort in imagining the joyful family reunion she is now having with Buck, Duane, Teresa, and the loved ones who passed before her.

Lillie will be laid to rest next to her husband and daughter at the Waverly Cemetery in Waverly, Missouri.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 10:00 until 11:00 am at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, MO 64067, 660-259-2245.
