LEONA LOCKE

Leona Locke, 67, of Lexington, MO passed away Monday, December 29, 2014 at N. Kansas City Hospice House. Leona Williams was born May 5, 1947 at Alma, MO to Edgar and Katherine (Brown) Williams. She married Ronnie C. Locke on April 12, 1985 in Higginsville, MO. Leona was a Developmental Assistant 2 at the Higginsville Habilitation Center for 30 years. She retired in 1998. Leona then worked for the Ray County Board of Services from 1998 until 2013. Leona was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Higginsville, MO. Leona is survived by her husband, Ronnie, of the home. Daughters: Yvette Diana Thurston, Slater, MO, Laura Sambol & husband, David, Kansas City, KS, and Elain Wade and husband, Steve, Independence. Brothers: Ernest L. Williams (Mary), Higginsville, Harvey Williams (Kathy), Warrensburg, and Aaron Haynes, Higginsville. Sisters: Minnie L. Elmore, Higginsville, Mary L. Johnson, Blue Springs, Ora Mae Williams, Higginsville, and Susie May, Higginsville. There are 5 grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers, David, Walter, and Robert and sisters, Barbara Jean,Ruthie Mae, and Vanessa. Services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 3, 2015 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Higginsville. Burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Alma, MO. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the church.
