Leo Edwin Short, 78, of Lexington, passed away August 4, 2020 at his home. A graveside service will be Friday, August 7, 2020 at 10:30 am at Lexington Memory Gardens Cemetery. Leo was born September 15, 1941 in Wellington to Melburn and Mary Theresa (Tissieres) Short. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1959. He was married to Sandra Gillespie on June 1, 1962. He worked for 17 years for Vendo and retired from Ford after 27 years. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Leo enjoyed trout fishing at Bennett Springs and quail hunting. He was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, the Masonic Lodge and the Lexington First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra, of the home; his children, Randall Short of Kansas City, Jeffrey Short and wife Cindy of Lexington, and Susan Short and fiancée Darin Emery of Dover; grandchildren, Blake Short, Sarah Nuelle and Heather Ray; and great grandchildren, Nash and Behren Nuelle. He was preceded in death by his parents.
