Leo Marion Barresi, 87, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 at the Zion United Church of Christ, 105 N. Mary St., Mayview, MO 64071 with Pastor Kristin Aardema Faigh officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Odessa, MO. Memorials are suggested to the Zion United Church of Christ Mayview or the Back Snack Program. Leo was born on July 6, 1927 in Kansas City, MO to Andrew and Jennie (DiPaola) Barresi. He attended Manual High School & Vocation in Kansas City. Leo retired from Yellow Freight System in 1990 where he worked on the Loading Docks. On July 5, 1989 Leo was united in marriage to Maggie L. (Bayless) Barresi in Kansas City, MO. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ Mayview and the Teamsters Local 41.

In addition to his wife Maggie, Leo is survived by three children, Andrew Barresi (Larry Summers) of Kansas City, MO, Jeanne Townsend (Thomas) and Anita Mathews (Rusty), both of Lee’s Summit, MO; four grandchildren, Marra McClure (Michael) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Lauren Owsley Townsend (Sarah), Independence, MO, Garrad Mathews of Lee’s Summit, MO and Alyson Martin (Daniel) of Greenwood, MO; five great grandchildren, Harper and Madison McClure, and Ezra, Cora Lee and Malachi Hargrave; two sisters, Mary Pisciotta of Lee’s Summit, MO and Teresa Armato (Pete) of Gladstone, MO; and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-laws.

In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by a great grandson, Austin McClure.
