Lennie Hopkins

Lennie Carol Hopkins of Odessa passed away on October 7th, 2024 at home surrounded by love.

Visitation will be held from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home 306 South Second Street Odessa, Missouri 64067. A Graveside Service will immediately follow at Odessa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Foundation. Lennie was born on August 20, 1938, to Luther and Ruth Richardson in Keytesville, Mo. After high school, Lennie moved to Kansas City to take a job with Southwestern Bell. Shortly after, she met Kenneth Hopkins. Six months later in 1960, Kenneth and Lennie got married at Longbranch Baptist Church in Odessa, Mo. They were married for 64 years. After working at Southwestern Bell, Lennie also worked at Hallmark, the Odessa telephone switchboard, Whistle Stop, and various Flower shops and grocery stores in Lafayette County. 

Lennie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and Kenneth loved to travel and made annual trips to Branson near Christmas time. Lennie enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, and dice games. She also loved fishing and telling jokes. 

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth; son, Jeffrey (Joan); daughter, Bonnie; 5 grandchildren; Cody Hopkins (Amy), Justin Ray (Jenny), Travis Hopkins (Kayla), Elizabeth Noser (Alex), Caleb Hopkins; and 10 great-grandchildren Bill, Joe, Maria, Lily, Paisley, Jasper, Jazlyn, Holden, Finnegan, and Baby Girl Noser. 

Lennie was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Ruth Richardson, and 8 siblings.
