Betty Grace Jameson LaBombard, born December 21, 1924 in Cherokee, KS, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Luke's East Hospital, Lee's Summit, MO. A resident of Odessa, MO since 2006, she lived previously in Humansville, MO, Flippin, AR, Kansas City, MO, and Orrick, MO. Betty Grace LaBombard, 88, of Odessa, Mo died on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Luke's East in Lee's Summit. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. LaBombard will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the Wayside Waifs. In her passing, animals of all species have lost a dedicated friend. She rescued and adopted dogs, cats, and wildlife, such as raccoons and rabbits. She supported the Humane Society of the United States and the World Wildlife Fund. Betty was a patriotic American. She loved her country, the flag, and the national anthem. She served her country as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II. Most of all, Betty was grateful for every woman and man who serve, or served, in uniform and she supported the Wounded Warrior Project. Survivors, who love her and will miss her greatly include: her children Mike LaBombard and wife Nikki, Lawnside, N.J. Veronica Allen and husband, David, Independence, MO; Gary LaBombard, Rayville, MO; Susa LaBombard, and partner of 19 years Karen Hermann Alexandria, VA. Mrs. LaBombard has13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and a surviving brother, Andrew James Curran, Paola, KS. Mrs. LaBombard was preceded in death by her parents, Husband in 2009 and her son, John Stephen LaBombard and a sister, Judith I. Bates
