Lawrence “Larry” Richard Vogt, 77, of Napoleon, Missouri passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at home surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 S. St., Lexington, MO, 64076, 660-259-2245. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Per Larry’s wishes cremation will follow. Larry was born on July 23, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Melvin W. and Lillian (Schuety) Vogt. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was Honorably Discharged on March 6, 1961. On September 1, 2001 he married Edna Roberta (Frazier) Vogt in Branson, MO. She survives of the home. Larry owned and operated a garage and tow service for many years in Independence, MO. After closing the business, he retired from the United States Corps of Engineers in Napoleon, MO as a Mechanical Engineer. Larry was known to always lend a helping hand. He and Edna Roberta enjoyed traveling and antique collecting. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Larry could be found trying to invent a new machine or playing his guitar, piano, organ or banjo.
In addition to his wife Edna Roberta Vogt of Napoleon, MO, Larry is survived by 9 children, Sandy Vogt, Tom Vogt of Higginsville, MO, Richard Vogt of Blue Springs, MO, Corky Vogt of Higginsville, MO, Donald Dale Suddarth of Kansas City, MO, Margie R. Orozco and husband Martin of Camden, MO, Michael W. Suddarth and wife Kathy of Lawson, MO, Jean M. Nelson and husband Darrell of Orrick, MO, William R. Suddarth of Excelsior Springs, MO; a daughter-in-law Pamela Suddarth of Richmond, MO; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a son, Robert Carl Suddarth and a granddaughter in infancy, Angela Denise Suddarth.
