Laura Marie Gamblin, 52, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Funeral services will start directly after the visitation, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Glensted Cemetery, 11296 Hwy Z, Versailles, MO 65084 at 3:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research or the American Cancer Society. Laura was born on June 27, 1966 in Columbia, Missouri to Roy and Laura (Hedrick) Sousley. She graduated in 1984 from Odessa High School, then proceeded into nursing after receiving her CNA license. On September 17, 1988 Laura was united in marriage to Larry Dean Gamblin in Odessa, MO. Laura worked for Children’s Mercy Hospital in patient admittance. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, and in addition to spending time with family and friends, Laura enjoyed painting, drawing, playing cards, and was an avid cook.
Survivors include parents, Roy and Laura Sousley of Odessa, MO; husband Larry Gamblin, of Odessa, MO; two daughters, Kristyne Edwards and husband Alvin of Independence, MO, and Emily Gamblin of Odessa, MO; one granddaughter, Madison Edwards; one brother, Joe Sousley and Fiancée, Anna Bowerman of Odessa, MO, and many nieces and nephews.
Laura was preceded in death by one brother, Roy “Bubby” Sousley Jr.
