Mary Elizabeth Lett, 89, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Golden Living Center-New Haven in Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 30, 2012 at the First Christian Church of Odessa with Reverend Clint Coffey officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Burial will be in the Bates City Cemetery in Bates City. Memorial are suggested to the First Christian Church of Odessa. Mary was born on February 17, 1923 in Blairstown, Missouri to Artiemus and Effie (Young) Hopkins. She was a 1940 graduate of Norris High School in Henry County. On June 15, 1940 she was united in marriage to Alvie Lett in Osceola, MO. She worked as a Seamstress at the Odessa Garment Factory. She was a member of the Easter Star for the past 59 years. She was a foster grandparent at McQuerry Elementary for 18 years. Her hobbies included quilting and crocheting. Survivors include two sons, Artie Lee Lett of Odessa, MO and Wayne Lett and wife Sandy of Liberty, MO; five grandchildren, Michele Lett, Scott Lett, Amy Jo Lett, Artie Lee Lett II and Joshua Lett; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 34 years, Alvie Lett and her parents, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Vivian Lett, Gayle Ann Lett and Elaine Lett and five brothers and sisters.
