Larry Thomas Lester, 74, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at McKendree Cemetery in Odessa, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Arab Shrine Temple 1305 S Kansas Ave Topeka, KS 66612-1332. Larry was born on July 19, 1946 in Missouri to Clayton and Sylvia Evelyn (Barnett) Lester. He worked as a dismantler and retired from Little Roberts Salvage Yard. On May 15, 1987 Larry was united in marriage to Gladys Loraine (Dale) in Kansas City, MO. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his wife, Gladys, survivors include a son, Brad Lester and wife, Patricia of Canyon Lake, Texas; a daughter, Cassandra “Sandy” and husband, Jerry of Maine; two sisters, Louise Shier and Viola Buttrum and husband, Bob; two brother in laws, Clifford Dale of Kansas City, KS, Leonard Dale of Topeka, KS, and Lawrence Dale of Barstow, CA; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lori Ann Glockengeiser; and a sister, Betty Parsons.
