Kuma (Kinu) Kanno Polson

July 14, 1933 — December 13, 2016

Kuma (Kinu Kanno) Polson, 83, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at home.

Kinu was born on July 14, 1933 in Hokkaido, Japan to Tomiji & San Kanno. She completed her education and earned a degree in Fashion Design in Japan. On April 25, 1969 she married Rex E. Polson in Japan at the American Embassy. Rex preceded her in death on August 5, 1999. Kinu came to the United States in May of 1969 and earned her American Citizenship March 4, 1976. She worked at the Odessa Garment Factory and retired from Action Products. She was well known for being an excellent seamstress. In addition to spending time with family and friends she enjoyed gardening.

Survivors in include three children, Reed Polson and wife Billie of Norman, Oklahoma, Holly Gunckel and husband Kurt of Oklahoma City, OK and Babette Hatfield of Oklahoma City, Ok; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; many brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kinu was preceded in death by a son, Rory Polson.
