Shirley Ann Barker, 77, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Odessa. Funeral Services will be at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, (306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524) with Reverend Sam Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Greenton Cemetery. www.ralphojones.com. Shirley was born on January 19, 1935 in rural Oak Grove, MO to William Lee and Esther (Murry) Rodenberg. She was a graduate of the Lexington High School. On November 16, 1952 she married Buford Gail Barker in Odessa, MO. He preceded her in death on June 27, 2001. She was cook for the Odessa school system for over 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Odessa. She was a member of the Methodist Womens Fellowship. Shirley had many hobbies, she loved to travel, make crafts, sewing, crocheting, but most of all cooking for her family gatherings and everyone loved it when she cooked. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her mother she is survived by four children, Carolyn Johnson and husband Jerry of Odessa, MO, Sue Mulkey and husband Paul of Liberty, MO, Randy Barker of Odessa, MO and Darren Barker and wife Vickie of Lees Summit, MO; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Popejoy and husband Larry of Higginsville, MO and Donna Schwartz of Odessa, MO; many nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her father and husband.
