Kearsten Renea Brown, 17 of Bates City, Missouri passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 as the result of an automobile accident.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Kearsten was born on July 21, 2002 in Independence, MO to Joshua Adam Mills and Jennifer Brown. At the age of sixteen she received her high school equivalent diploma and was an undergraduate at MCC Community College, Blue River Campus. Kearsten was set to begin attending the Chamberlain College of Nursing in St. Charles, MO next spring. She was currently working as a salesclerk at RUE 21 in the Independence Mall. Prior to that she worked at the Bates City Café as a waitress and was also training in the kitchen. During Kearstens youth she particiaped in swimming and cheerleading, but found a love for painting, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her father and step-mother, Joshua Mills and wife Nichole of Bates City, MO; her mother Jennifer Brown; three brothers, Casey Mills, Skyler Joplin and Sylis Mills all of Bates City, MO; one sister Sahrinity Gilmore of Bates City, MO; paternal grandmother, Amy Lue Mills and husband Billy Troutman of Independence, MO and paternal grandfather, Dennis Gray and wife Betty of Independence, MO; a special uncle, Shane A. Mills and wife Krissy of Oak Grove, MO and cousins Keona Wright, Tyler Wright, Nicolas Mills and Mashayla Mills all of Oak Grove, MO; and many more aunts, uncles, cousins.
