Kay Lyn Baugh

February 28, 1962 — May 7, 2016

Kay Lyn Baugh, 54, of Odessa, Mo., passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at her home. Suggested memorial contributions to Veterans of Foreign Wars and/or Bed & Bones LLC of Odessa, MO. Kay was not a member of any particular church but maintained a deep personal faith. She was a graduate of Fruita, Colo High school and attend Mesa State College. Her first love was for her children whom she idolized, protected, and cherished with all of her heart. Being raised in Colorado led her to always make time each summer to visit and “take in some mountain time”. She loved animals of all types and sizes, and was deemed a local hero for catching and rescuing a scared dog who had been dumped in her city and could not be caught for over 3 months. Kay enjoyed both the KC Chiefs and Royals attending all of the Chiefs games she could for many years. Kay was also an avid Motorcyclist and member of the Ironbutt Association, which can only be obtained by riding 1000 miles in less than 24 hrs. She constantly participated in charity events for fellow bikers as well as any event in support of Veterans. Kay is survived by her children Tommy Curtis III & Rachel Joyner (Lees Summit, MO); Gabrie & Stephanie Vitori (Miami Beach, FL); Jay Baugh & partner, Jessica Farris, (Rolla, MO); parents, Richard & Kenna DeWeber, (Grand Junction, CO); brother, Doug DeWeber & Katie and children, (Fruita, CO); partner, Leroy “Jim” Green (Odessa, MO); grandfather, Ken Lorts (Columbia, MO); uncles, Ted (Nadine) & Jack (Cecilia) Lorts; many loved cousins and extended family & former spouse, Tommy Curtis Joyner II and her furbaby, Angus. Kay also leaves many friends who appreciated her kindness, honesty and her ability to enjoy life. She will be missed by all. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
