Kathy Stockdall

Kathy Jeaneva (Bellington) Stockdall, 73, Independence, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 21, 2022, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home 306 S. 2nd Street, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A Celebration of Life will follow Thursday, October 27, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Kathy's family request that anyone who has little children and will be attending the services please dress them in Halloween costume as this was Kathy's favorite holiday. Inurnment will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Greenton Cemetery 9345 Greenton Rd., Odessa, MO, 64076. Memorials are suggested to Wayside Waifs. Kathy was born May 26, 1949, to George and Hazel (Rountree) Bellington in Independence, Missouri. She graduated high school from Van Horn High School in 1967. Kathy attended Hannibal-LaGrange University where she earned her associate of arts degree, and then graduated from William Jewell College in 1971 with her master's degree in early childhood education. Kathy first worked at Action Products, Ventures, and finally found her passion with being a childcare provider at Catholic Charities for 20 years. She was a member of Blue Hills Baptist Church. Kathy loved animals, especially feeding the squirrels. She also loved children and supporting the Boy Scouts. She loved gardening, decorating cookies and cakes, and making quilts.

Kathy is survived by her three sons, Joseph Stockdall (Betty) of Elyria, Ohio, Jason Stockdall (LeAnn) of Independence, and Jerami Stockdall of Independence; two brothers, Rick Bellington of Odessa, Missouri and Mark Bellington of Odessa, Missouri and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents.
