Karl Christian “K.C.” Girtch, 59, of Lexington, passed away September 23, 2019 at his home. Visitation will be Sunday September 29, 2019 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. A memorial service will also be on Sunday at the funeral home at 4:00 pm. K.C. was born October 23, 1959 in Lexington to Marlin Girtch and Helen (Battagler) Paxton. He graduated from Lexington High School and attended Missouri Western College. He worked for many years as a monument designer for Baker Memorials in Lexington. Among other projects, he designed the artwork for the Lexington water tower and made the plaques for the Lexington War Memorial. K.C. was a past city council member and a member of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce. He was a board member for CASA, the Machpelah Cemetery Association, and the Lexington Community Fair, and was involved in many other organizations. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and MU Tigers fan. He loved movies, Alice Cooper and animals, especially his dog, Daisy.
K.C. is survived by his children, Ashley Girtch and companion Vladimir Younger of Kansas City and Matthew Girtch of Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents.
