Karen Ann (Kounovsky) Winemiller, 74, of Lexington, Missouri passed away Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Anew Health and Rehab in Odessa, Missouri.

Karen was born February 17, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri to Milton Charles and Margaret (Kornmeier) Kounovsky. A graduate of Bayless High School, Karen continued her education at Central Missouri State, where she earned her bachelor's degree in teaching. Karen retired from Lexington High School as an art teacher. Her commitment to education led her to further roles at Wentworth Military Academy and briefly at the Lexington News as an ad designer, where her creativity shone through. On August 15, 1982, Karen was united in marriage to Thomas Eugene Winemiller in Lexington, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2020. Karen's life was filled with dedication to education and a passion for art. She took joy in her beloved pets and cooking.
Karen is survived by her son, Grant Winemiller of Overland Park, KS.
Karen was preceded in death by both her parents, and her husband, Thomas E. Winemiller.
