Julia Etta Schoonover

Julia E. Schoonover, 68, of Lexington, MO passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Riverbend Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center. Julia Etta Burris was born November 8, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Harold and Wanita Schwindt Burris. She married Delbert L. Schoonover on March 30,1964, he preceded her in death on November 16, 1985. Julia was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother. She loved to help others. She was an active member of the Lexington Booster Club from 1978 through 1982 and she helped at the food pantry when help was needed. Julia is survived by sons: Dale Schoonover and wife, Mary Kay, and Daniel Schoonover, both of Lexington. A sister: Bonnie Melton, of Lexington . There are six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. There are also several nieces and nephews surviving. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Sue Schoonover, brothers, Richard Burris and Max Burris, sisters, Paula Bennett, Patty Shane, and Jackie Kay Burris. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington, MO (660)259-2245. Cremation following. Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Inurnment in Machpelah Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Preferred Hospice or to the Donors Choice of Charity.
