Judith “Judy” Ann (Hendrix) Slater, 82, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at home surrounded by family.
A private graveside Celebration of Life will be held at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin, MO. Judy was born on July 25, 1938 in Boonville, MO to Jesse Howard and Agnes Anna Marie (Stanfield) Hendrix. She graduated in 1956 from New Franklin High School in New Franklin, MO. After high school Judy attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO. On June 5, 1958 she married Donald Ray Slater in New Franklin. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2019. Judy was a homemaker, taking great pride in caring for her large family & beautiful home. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Judy enjoyed reading, traveling, and going to the beach.
Survivors include five children, Kelly Jesse and husband Scott of Smithville, MO, Mike Slater and wife Sharon of Oak Grove, MO, Robin Slater of Kansas City, MO, Paul Slater and wife Kimberly of Melissa, Texas, and Sarah Barker and husband Brent of Billings, MO; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Corissa, Laura, Whitney, Claudia, Melissa, Hannah, Katelynn, Johnathon, and Nicholas; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ellen Camp and husband Bill of Gainesville, Virginia; a nephew, Justin Camp and wife April of Wesley Chapel, Florida and a niece Susan Camp of Ashburn, VA.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
