Joyce Darlene Westerman

Joyce Darlene Westerman’s life paused on June 20^th, 2023.

Born May 14^th, 1939 to Annabelle and John Leach, Joyce lived a full and vibrant life.  She was always ready for adventure, and her smile could light up a room.  She was married to her best friend, Bill, up to his passing in 2017, and leaves her son, Michael Westerman and his wife Crystal, along with two grandchildren, Ethan and Caleb.  She is also survived by two brothers, Jerry and Jim Leach and many other friends and relatives.  During her life, she was quick to make friends and was known for her famous peanut butter cookies and genuine hospitality.

Most importantly, her love for Jehovah is what she can be remembered for.  Joyce was baptized in 1963 and engaged in the full-time pioneer work on and off throughout her life.  She had the privilege of helping many come to know more about God.

We eagerly look forward to the time that we will see her again and are comforted by the promise found at Isaiah 25:8: “He will swallow up death forever, and the sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.”

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Shirley Todd.

A family hosted graveside service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Wellington City Cemetery.  There will be a family hosted memorial service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1501 NE 65^th Street, Kansas City, Missouri  64118.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, 1720 South Street, Lexington, Missouri  64067, 660-259-2245.  Memories and condolences may be left at www.LedfordFamilyFH.com.
