Joyce Virginia Schwartze, 68, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Sunday May 14, 2017 at home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at the St. George Catholic Church, with Father Matthew Brumleve as Celebrant, 716 S. 3rd St., Odessa, MO, 64076. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Church. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Church with Visitation to follow. Inurnment will follow in the Mt. Joyce was born on May 4, 1949 in Kansas City, MO to Leonard Herman and Anna Marie (Larman) Schwartze. She graduated in 1967 from Odessa High School in Odessa, MO. After high school she started her career with Hallmark Cards until her retirement in 2010 after 43 years of service. Joyce was a member of the St. George Catholic Church. In addition to collecting figurines she enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Joyce will be remembered as someone who never forgot a special anniversary or birthday, in addition to many other special memories.
Survivors include two brothers, Bob Schwartze and wife Iris and Steve Schwartze both of Odessa, MO; two sisters, Jeanne Wade and husband Jerry of Odessa, MO and Margie Blucas and husband Pete of Springfield, MO; a sister-in-law, Julie Schwartze of Odessa, MO; a brother-in-law, Dale Durham of Odessa, MO; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Schwartze; and two sisters, Beverley Thomsen and Patricia Durham.
