Joyce Gale Evans

Joyce Gale (Holland) Evans, 89, of Independence, Missouri formerly of Odessa, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024, at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Greenton Baptist Church, 9345 Greenton Road, Odessa, MO, 64076. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Greenton Cemetery on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Dreama Evans Boynton. Joyce was born on June 25, 1935, in Franklin, North Carolina to Thomas L. and Octie J. (Tilson) Holland. On August 3, 1951, Joyce was united in marriage to Kenneth Paul Evans in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on February 5, 2004. Joyce was a homemaker, taking care of her family. She was Christian by faith. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Joyce enjoyed her book club, swimming, shopping, and traveling. 

Joyce is survived by a daughter, Dreama Gail Evans-Boynton of Independence, MO; six grandchildren, Wendy Dobratz, Codie Brown, Jessica McGinnis, Michael Woodall, Cheyenne Evans, and Sawyer Evans; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Dobratz, Willow Brown, Riley Brown, Brinnley McGinnis, and Easton Woodall; two daughters-in-laws, Jean Evans of Independence, MO and Julie Evans of Odessa, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by three sons, Mike Evans, Steve Evans, and Jeff Evans; a grandson, Dakota Evans; and many siblings.
