Joseph Lee Carl, 82, of Higginsville, MO passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Joseph Lee Carl was born May 24, 1929 in Lexington, MO, the son of Joseph A. and Myrtle A. Cooper Carl. He married Mary Groom on October 28, 1955 in Thrapston, United Kingdom. Mr. Carl was an Air Force veteran, serving from 1952 to 1960 in Germany and England, as an aircraft mechanic. After serving his Air Force commitment he was employed at Northrop Grumman and after retirement he was the custodian at his church for two years. He was a member and past Deacon of First Baptist Church in Higginsville. Mr. Carl is survived by three children: Carrol Luttrell, Springfield, MO, Beverley Klingenberg and husband, Ronnie, Nelson, MO, and David Carl and wife, Anna, Odessa, MO. A daughter-in-law, Betty Watson, of Higginsville and a sister, Lula Maude Rendon, Phoenix, AZ. There are 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, his parents, and two children, Peter and Dianne. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 19, 2012 at the First Baptist Church of Higginsville. Burial in Higginsville City Cemetery with Military Rites.
