Joseph Dale Begemann, 85, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the John Knox Village Care Center in Lee’s Summit, MO.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 100 Ste. Hwy OO, Odessa, MO, 64076 with Reverend Terry Hodges officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Friday October 14, 2016 at the church. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Memories of Dale and condolences for the family may be shared at

Dale was born on February 5, 1931 in Odessa, MO to Alvin D. and Claudia (Alumbaugh) Begemann. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. On December 30, 1950 he married Betsy Louise (Braxdale) Begemann in Odessa, MO. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2016. Dale retired from the City of Odessa as an Electrical Lineman in 1996. In addition to working for the City of Odessa, Dale and Betsy also farmed on the family farm until selling it in 2002. Dale was a Charter Member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Odessa. He was also a past member of the First Baptist Church Building Committee.
Dale is survived by two children, Sandra Cline and husband Dan of Lee’s Summit, MO and Roy Begemann and wife Debra of Pleasant Hill, MO; four grandchildren, Taylor Cline and wife Laurel, Chelsey Sirna and husband Matt, and Kendall and Austin Cline. Two great grandchildren, Arabella and Aiden Sirna.
In addition to his wife and parents, Dale was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles “Sonny” Begemann, Bob Begemann and Fred Begemann and Jarrott Begemann in infancy; and three sisters, Alva “Tootie” Delay, Ann Peerson and Mayme Lou Davis.
