John M. “Doc” Stigall
John M. “Doc” Stigall, 96, of Lexington, MO passed away Tuesday, December 08, 2015 at Lexington. Services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home, Lexington. (660) 259-2245 Burial will be in Lexington Memory Gardens, with military rites. Visitation from 2 p.m. until service time on Friday. Memorials in Doc’s memory can be made to the Meals on Wheels Program at the Margaret Gray Center.
John M. Stigall was born August 26, 1919 in Ray County, Missouri, to Claude and Elizabeth Rosewarren Stigall. He married Doris V. Sexton on July 7, 1940 at Wellington, MO. Doc retired from Ford Motor Co. after 33 years, where he was a welder.
Doc was an Army Veteran of WWII, where he served in the European Theater, and was awarded three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
Doc is survived by two daughters: Marlene Oetting and husband, Sonny, of Lexington, and Ginny Closson and husband, Jim, Marshall, MO. A brother, David Keith Stigall, Lexington. Grandchildren: Laurie Stephenson and husband, Wendell, Marla Bartet, Kurt Oetting, Kyle Oetting and wife, Jill, Jay Closson and wife, Rachel, Lindsey Klusman and husband, Ryan. Great-Grandchildren: Austin Stephenson and wife, Lauren, Garrett Stephenson and wife, Spencer, Collin Stephenson, Drew Bartet, Drake Oetting, Natalie Oetting; Reece, Porter, Wells, Laney, and Parker Klusman; Grace, Gavin, Sylvia, Asher, and Ruby Closson. One great-great-granddaughter, Madelyn Stephenson.
Doc was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Doris, on December 4, 2001, his parents, a daughter, Lois Anne McBride, brothers, Melton, Jack and Harold Kay, sisters, Shirley and Sharon.
