Ann Peerson, 80, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at St. Marys Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, (306 S. Second St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524), with Reverend Clint Coffey officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the New Odessa Library Building Fund. Condolences for the family may be left at www.ralphojones.com. Ann was born on September 28, 1932 in Odessa, MO to Alvin and Claudia (Alumbaugh) Begemann. She graduated from Odessa High School in 1951. On November 10, 1951 she was united in marriage to John "Jay" Edward Peerson in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Jay preceded her in death on July 9, 2003. She and Jay were members of the First Baptist Church of Odessa. Her hobbies were reading and sewing. Christmas Eve was her favorite holiday because the entire family would always come together at her home. She loved playing cards with her friends. Ann was a member of the Weaver Club and Eastern Star. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Survivors include two children, Terry Peerson and wife Carol of Odessa, MO and Sherryl Delana and husband Jeff of Odessa, MO; three grandchildren, Melissa Jeffery and husband Bryan of Odessa, MO, Megan Slusher and husband Kyle of Odessa, MO and BJ Cummins and wife Samantha of Greenwood, MO; eight great grandchildren; Skylar Brianne Cutshall; Lori Ann, Reese Michael, and Rhianna Jolene Jeffery; Kamryn Elizabeth, Avery Elizabeth Ann, and Brody Jay Peerson Slusher; Carson Jay Cummins; and a brother, Dale Begemann and wife Betsy of Odessa, MO; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Bob, Fred and Jarrot Begemann; and two sisters, Tooty DeLay and Mayme Davis.
