John Rostine, Jr., 83, of Warsaw, MO passed away Monday, February 27, 2012 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO. John Rostine, Jr. was born November 23, 1928 in Lexington, MO, to John and Minnie L. Pessetto Rostine. He married Wilma Starr on May 15, 1948 in Lexington. Mr. Rostine was a service man and later supervisor for Missouri Public Service Co. Mr. Rostine was a life member of the Marshall Optimist Club where he had held all offices including Lieutenant Governor of Missouri. He was a member of Boy Scout Tribe of Mic-O-Say, a member of the 1946-47 State Football Championship team and was selected an All-Conference Player. He had been a football referee in Lexington and was instrumental in starting the Optimist Little League Baseball where he served as a coach and an umpire. He served as a Councilman for the First Ward in Marshall and was a member of the Marshall Auxiliary Police. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church and of High Hope Cancer Support Group at Bothwell Hospital in Sedalia. Mr. Rostine is survived by his wife, Wilma Rostine of the home, children: Sherry Elaine Wilcox and husband, John, of Kearney, MO. and John �Skip� Rostine, III and wife, Claudia, of Warrensburg, MO. Grandchildren: Carey Elaine Weir and husband, John, Erin Nicole Rostine, John Ryan Rostine and wife, Aubrey. Great-grandsons: Brennan Ryan Rostine and Morgan Jon OReilly. Sisters: Mary McCoy of Liberty and Maxine Thompson, Lexington. sister-in-laws, Dorothy Rostine, Cameron, and Francine McGowan, Independence. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dominic, Barney, and Robert. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Walker-Nadler-Fuller Funeral Home in Lexington. Burial in Lexington Memory Gardens. Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the New Home Church in Warsaw, MO or High Hope Cancer Support Group at Bothwell Hospital.
