John Martin Luehrs, 71, of Lexington passed away April 4, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence. Visitation will be Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at Grace Lutheran Church, Lexington. A memorial service will also be on Saturday at the church at 4:00 pm. John was born January 13, 1950 in Carrollton to Henry and Betty (Strobel) Luehrs. He was a foreman, retiring after 30 plus years with US Water Company. He then worked as a groundskeeper for Lexington Cemetery Association. On August 13, 1994 he married Joyce Weatherly in Lexington. John was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Elk's Lodge and the Ponderosa Club. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Luehrs, of the home; his mother, Betty Luehrs of Lexington; sister, Carolyn Luehrs of Nevada, Missouri; daughters, Janet Luehrs of Lexington, Charla Ashby of Lexington, Jessica Krummel and husband Chad of Higginsville and Tera Bell of Higginsville; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his father.
