John J. Yakley, 83, of Lexington, MO passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at his home. John Yakley was born May 30, 1928 in Kingsport, TN, the son of John and Addie Morelock Yakley. He was a driver for Kansas City ATA, retiring after 30 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Yakley is survived by a daughter, Julie Mazick and husband, Jim, of Lexington. Three grandchildren, Matt Mazick, Regan Mazick, and McKinley Mazick, and was married to Lorena for 29 years, all of Lexington. Two brothers, Bert and Edward Yakley, and one sister, Trixie Forbes, all of Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Yakley, his parents, two brothers, Cecil and Willis, and two sisters, Belva Yakley and Dorothy Conklin. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Lexington. Inurnment at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville. Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the donors choice of charity.
