Jimmie Nelson Norris, 77, of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO.
Funeral services with Masonic Funeral Rites will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Jimmie was born on June 30, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to James Albert and Anna Louise (Wyatt) Norris. He graduated in 1956 from Commerce High School in Commerce, Oklahoma. On June 9, 1956 he married Linda Lou (Anderson) Norris in Commerce, OK. On June 9, 2016 Jimmie and Linda celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Jimmie retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years as an Inspector for the truck line. He was a member of the UAW local 249 and the Independence Masonic Lodge 76. In addition to spending time with his family and friends he enjoyed woodworking, working outside on the farm, tractors and being a handy man.
In addition to his wife Linda, Jimmie is survived by four daughters, Tammy Myers and husband Clay of Lake Ozark, MO, Tonny Norris of Oakland, CA, Trena Norris and fiance Chris of Raymore, MO and Teanna O'Neill and husband Sean of Apollo Beach, Florida; seven grandchildren, Ken and Keith Myers, Cara Cox, Tandra Keeton, Reilly, Alec and Aiden, O'Neill; five great grandchildren, Trenady and Adam Keeton, C.J. Gooch, Mason and Eli Cox; and two brothers, Kenneth Norris and wife Charlotte of Blue Springs, MO and Guy Norris and wife Terri of Blue Springs, MO.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents.
