Jewell Dean Reade

Jewell Dean (Alumbaugh) Reade, 75, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at NorthCare Hospice House, in North Kansas City, MO surrounded by family.

Jewell was born on April 28, 1948, to Charles L. and Martha Mae (Hankins) Alumbaugh in Wellington, Missouri.  She worked many years in the health care industry, Jewell worked at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Housekeeping and for Lafayette Manor as a CNA.  She was Baptist by faith.  Jewell enjoyed gardening and her flowers.  In addition to spending time with family, Jewell enjoyed socializing with friends. 

Jewell is survived by five children, Sherry Lee Dilday of Lexington, MO, Sandra Elaine Huffman (Mark) of Wellington, MO, Joanna Lynn Mallot (Charles) of Wellington, Theresa Ann O’Dell (Randy Hoover) of Bates City, MO, and Benjamin Roy Reade, Jr. (Rona) of Lexington, MO; 19 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, Shana, Mark, Tanner, Casi, Justin, Shelby, Breanna, Douglas, Sydni, Matthew, Benjamin, Robert, Ashley, Jacob, Dayton, Dillon, and Haley; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Donna Kay Wood of Buckner, MO and Patty Ann Sawyer (Jimmy) of Oak Grove, MO; two brothers, Ross Alumbaugh (Becky) of Higginsville, MO and Max Lynn Alumbaugh of Oak Grove, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

In addition to her parents, Jewell was preceded in death by a daughter, Geanette Faye Reade; a granddaughter, Megan Huffman; a sister, Billy Jo Goodwin; and three brothers, Charles Alumbaugh, Jr., Ivan Wayne Alumbaugh, and Larry Ray Alumbaugh; and a son-in-law, Johnnie Robert O’Dell.
