Jessie Louise May (Kinnaman) Craven, 99, of Odessa, died Friday, October 20, 2023, at her home.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Odessa Restoration Branch 6783 MO-131 Odessa, MO 64076. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 27, 2023, at Odessa Restoration Branch. Interment will follow in the Odessa Cemetery. Born May 21, 1924, in St. Joseph, she was the daughter of Allen Lewis and Myrtle (Landers) Kinnaman. After attending Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa, she worked at North American Aviation B-25 bomber production plant in Kansas City during World War II. On February 24, 1946, she married James F. “Frank” Craven in Independence. In 1957, she and her family moved to Odessa where they had a farm. She was employed as an inspector at Western Electric until her retirement in 1982. Jessie attended the Odessa Restoration Branch and was a member of the Quivira Crossing Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed many pastimes including landscaping, gardening, canning, collecting Depression glass, and drawing birds.
Survivors include three daughters and a son Cheryl (Al) Love, Overland Park, KS, Loretta (Kent) Morton, Kansas City, Darla Craven (Odessa), and Allen (Brenda) Craven, Athens, TN; five grandchildren Amy (Brennan) Briscoe, Overland Park, KS, Lucas (Donna) Craven, Oak Ridge, TN, Trevor (Amanda) Tilton, Odessa, Frank Tilton, Kansas City, and Reed (Morgan) Morton, Charlottesville, VA, and eight great-grandchildren Kellen and Ian Briscoe, Tatum, Arlo, and Bodie Craven, Hazel and Harris Tilton, and Rowan Morton. She is also survived by a brother Orman (Shirley) Kinnaman.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Paul Kinnaman, grandson Micah Craven, and infant daughter.
