Jesse “Hardhead” George Fiene, 93 of Odessa, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Country Oak Village Care Center in Grain Valley, MO.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St, Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the funeral home. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Odessa Cemetery. Jesse was born on January 11, 1923 in Sweet Springs, MO to Louis Henry and Ethel Clara (Gash) Fiene. He graduated from Higginsville High School in Higginsville, MO. Jesse was a Veteran of the United States Marines serving from 1943 until being Honorably Discharged in 1945. Jesse served in World War II and also played on the Marines Baseball and Football Teams. Jesse was a Charter Lifetime Member of the Odessa VFW Post 5675 in Odessa. He married Donna Jean (Rider) Fiene on June 19, 1946 in Odessa, MO. She preceded him in death. Jesse was a member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa and also served as a Sunday School Teacher. He retired from the General Motors Leed’s plant in Kansas City, MO after 30 years of service. After retirement he served as a reserve Deputy Sheriff in Lafayette County for 8 years. Jesse served as a past Alderman for Ward 3 on the Odessa City Council and was a past member of the Odessa Cemetery Board. Jesse loved traveling and after retirement he would go to Texas for the winters. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed all sports especially baseball, playing pool and gardening.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Shawn Fiene and wife Deborah J. of Odessa, MO and Stephanie Smith and husband Shannon of Blue Springs, MO; six great grandchildren, Austin and Lauren Fiene, Regan West and husband Chris, Dalton, Mason and Hannah Smith; two great great grandchildren, Anna Duke and Collin West; a brother, Ronnie “Crow” Fiene and wife Karen of Higginsville, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Jesse was preceded in death by two sons, James “Dickie” Richard Fiene and Paul “Kerry” Fiene; a daughter-in-law, Deborah B. Fiene; seven brothers, Bill, Harold, Raymond, Clyde, Paul, Ralph, and Marvin Lee Fiene; and four sisters, Angie Condor, Earlene Anderson, Shirley Fiene and Dean Sinnett.
